Hotel Goddess: Mary Woronov!

She’s big! BIG!

She’s big! BIG!

Mary Woronov was literally born in a hotel. Namely, The Breakers, that monument to opulent hospitality in Palm Beach. The twin-towered colossus was known as Ream General Hospital during WW2.

Ream.

Mary rocketed to Underground stardom as Hanoi Hannah in Chelsea Girls, shot in New York’s creepy-but-arty Hotel Chelsea. “Of all the girls at Andy Warhol's Factory,” she said, “I was the butch one.”

Pretty little Gerard Malanga looked dainty next to her, even with a bullwhip in his hand.

She had roles in several Roger Corman movies, including Death Race 2000. She played Felicia in Secrets of a Chambermaid, whose very title reeks of the hospitality industry.

Hotel Kranepool Management ordered staff artist Joe Courtney to create a series of whatever it is he creates to celebrate Mary Woronov’s induction into the Kranepool’s Hotel Hall of Fame.

Dea d’albergo: Mary Woronov

Mary Woronov è letteralmente nata in albergo. The Breakers, quel monumento all’opulenta ospitalità a Palm Beach, nella Florida, divenne Ream General Hospital durante la Seconda Guerra Mondiale.
