The advertisement said, The musical about hotels for people who hate musicals about hotels! Didn't make sense. Sorta like saying, a hotel for people who don't like hotels. Or a hotel that doesn't want people who like to stay in hotels to stay in their hotel.

A confusing idea whose result is nothing.

There was no music. No one sang, or danced. The scenery changed confusingly often, and it all seemed kinda...dirty.

La pubblicità diceva, II musical sugli hotel per chi odia i musical sugli hotel! Non ha senso. Un po' come dire, un hotel per quelli a cui non piacciono gli hotel. Oppure, un hotel che non vuole ospitare ospiti a cui piace farsi ospitare in hotel.

Un'idea confusa cui risultato è nulla.

Non c'era musica. Nessuno cantava né danzava. Le scenografie cambiavano troppo spesso, faceva solo confusione e tutto sembrava... lascivo, sporco.

Modern dance can be abstruse. Modern painting can be abstract. Musicals shouldn't be either one of those things. Hotel seemed like it was created specifically for theatergoers crippled by (bullshit) information overload.

La danza moderna può essere astrusa. La pittura moderna può essere astratta. Un musical non dovrebbe essere nessuna delle due cose. Hotel sembrava creato apposta per appassionati di teatro danneggiati da sovraccarico d'informazione (del tubo).

When I was in Hotel School, the first thing we learned was that guests should be made to feel like they're at home away from home. The stuff that went on onstage made me feel like I was far, far away from anything that felt like a hotel. The music was catchy, but that’s only because there was none. While I watched the...uh, show...I heard elevator Muzak in my head.

Quando ero alla Scuola Alberghiera, la prima cosa che abbiamo imparato è che gli ospiti devono sentirsi a casa lontani da casa. Ciò che succedeva sul palcoscenico mi ha fatto sentire lontanissima da qualsiasi cosa che abbia a che fare con un hotel. La musica era accattivante, ma solo perché non ce n'era. There's one consolation: theater tickets are still slightly cheaper than hotel suites. But next time I'm gonna stay home and watch Hotel: The TV Series on my computer. Don't cost nothing.

Or maybe it costs everything, who knows?

C'è una sola consolazione: biglietti per il teatro costano sensibilmente meno delle suite d'hotel. Ma la prossima volta me ne starò a casa a guardare Hotel: La serie televisiva sul computer. Non costa niente.
